10000 kg gold sold on the day of Akshaya Tritiya!

The members of the Gold jewellery Traders’ Association have informed that around 1000 kg of gold had been sold on account of Akshaya Tritiya.
Teeming crowds were seen on all the jewellery shops day-before-yesterday (Tuesday, 7th May). On this day, the jewellery shops opened right from the early morning. The sales went on till 3.00 Am yesterday (Wednesday, 8th May). The eager public thronged the jewellery shops and bought gold jewellery.
Around 10000 kg of gold has been sold over the last 2 days! The members of the Gold jewellery Traders’ Association informed:
‘The public displayed extra eagerness and enthusiasm in buying gold jewellery during this year’s Akshaya Tritiya Day! As compared to the last year, the advance reservation for buying gold jewellery was up by 40% this year! As at the early morning yesterday (Wednesday, 8th May), 10000 kg of gold has been sold throughout Tamil Nadu.
In a similar trend, the sales of the silver items have gone up by 5 times as compared to the normal days!’
