Posted on: 28/Mar/2019 11:15:06 AM
Private schools have started admitting students under its Right to Education Act, 2009. Owing to this, there is an announcement from Director of Matriculation Schools that from 22nd April, online submission shall begin for the same.

The circular issued in this regard states that online applications will be made available and that the director is working out the same. For this, the schools are instructed to list out the available seats in entry level admissions.

School notice boards present outside the campus should contain this information about the total available seats. This will be of help for parents lying  in close proximities to the school to know about the nearby schools and get their children admitted there under RTE.

Who can apply?

The school and applying child’s residence must fall within 1 km radius. If this criteria is met, the child can apply.

Officials further add that education officials need to reach out to the parents to alert them regarding this and attend to their queries or doubts regarding documentation process for the same.

It is to be noted that there were 65,000 total number of seats allocated for admission under RTE act in private matriculation schools.

April 2 - this is the deadline for schools to send across details of available seat vacancies.

April 10 – deadline to notify about the seat vacancies on official school notice board

The official school education department website shall also contain details of total intake capacity in the schools present in each and every district. Until May 18, these admission processes are set to take place.
