Shops shut in Koyambedu

All shops in Chennai’s busy Koyambedu fruits and vegetables market have shut their doors on Tuesday. The shop owners are doing their bit to support the agitations against Sri Lanka that has gripped the entire State.
People from all walks of life are urging the Central government to back the US sponsored resolution in the UN against Sri Lanka for war crimes during its Civil War against the LTTE. What started off as a request to the Prime Minister by both the ruling party and the DMK, has led to fasts and hunger strikes by students of colleges across the State. The Tamil film fraternity is also conducting a fast on Tuesday in Chennai.
