Renal Foundation inaugurated at Ramachandra

Commemorating World Kidney Day on Monday, the Sri Ramachandra Renal Foundation was inaugurated at Sri Ramachandra University. The event was presided by K.C. Veeramani, Tamil Nadu Health Minister. The Foundation has a Home Dialysis Training Centre for those who wish to do the procedure themselves. It also has facilities that would detect kidney diseases at an early stage especially for the poor.
The day also marked the 20th anniversary of the Nephrology Department at Ramachandra Medical.
Mr. Veeramani said that the Tamil Nadu Government was planning an AIIMS-like hospital in the State. He commended the efforts of the University and praised its work in the field of medicine.
