The public examinations for the +1 class are scheduled to commence tomorrow (Wednesday, 6th March). 8.16 Lakhs candidates will be writing this public examination.

In the Tamil Nadu school education system, the scheme of conducting public examinations for the +1 students was introduced in the year 2017-18.

In this background, the public examinations for the +1 class this year is scheduled to commence tomorrow (6th March). Including the 4.50 Lakhs students (boys and girls) studying in 7272 schools throughout Tamil Nadu, a total of 8.16 Lakhs candidates are writing this examination.

2912 examination centres have been set up throughout the state for this. As for the students who failed in the +1 public examination last year, 28000 students discontinued their studies not attending their +2 classes. There was a complaint that most of these students were compulsorily handed over their transfer certificates by the school administration and asked to discontinue.

However, as per the existing rules, even the +1 students who have failed in the public examinations can continue studying +2 classes at the same school.

Further, the students shared the information that the question papers during the 2018 +1 public examinations were rather too tough.
