Anna University releases a new system for writing arrears examinations

Anna University has released the new system for the engineering students who have to complete writing their arrears examinations. According to this new system, the students can write the arrears examination in the very next semester itself.
As per the earlier arrears exam system, the students who failed in some subjects in the 1st semester can write the arrears exams in the 2nd semester. However, Anna University changed this some time back and introduced a new system. The students protested and strongly against this and an indulged in demonstrations pressing their demands to revert to the old system. Accordingly, the Academic Council of Anna University has made some changes and recently released the new system for writing arrears exams.
According to the revised arrears exam system, if the students fail in 1 subject in the 1st semester, he/she can write the arrears examination for the same in the very next, that is, the 2nd semester. In a similar arrangement, it is also gathered that the students cannot write their 5th-semester examinations in case they have not passed all the subjects in the 1st semester.
The students who fail in some subjects during the final semester permission has been given to write the subsequent 3 semesters.

The Anna University administration authorities have informed that the above-revised systems have been rendered effective immediately after the approval has been given by the Anna University Syndicate Council.
