Sterilisation of stray dogs will be done in 15-zones

More than 1.5 lakh stray dog population in the City`s extended area will be soon taken up for birth control by performing sterilization (animal birth control), according to an official from the Chennai Corporation.
The Chennai Corporation has put into operation more dog-catching vans to catch the animals and to sterilize them to contain the population.
Though sterilization on more than 19,000 dogs were performed in the last year, the Corporation still needs workers to catch those stray dogs, said the official.
