Following the terror strikes in Hyderabad, the Chennai police have started doing their bit to try and prevent such an attack on Chennai. Immediately after the incidents, the police arranged a meeting with theatre owners, security agencies, hoteliers and builders and counseled them about the dos and don’ts in case of an emergency.

The police are also keeping track of people who work in Tamil Nadu but are originally from other states. P. Saravanan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, St. Thomas Mount, said, ‘We have asked inspectors to liaise with people who employ workers from other states and prepare a database of these individuals.’

The twin blasts in Hyderabad’s Dilsukhnagar killed 16 and injured more than 116.
