Prospects of heavy rains in 8 districts

Warnings about prospects of heavy rains have been issued today (Tuesday, 4th December) to 8 coastal districts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai. The weather centre has notified that since a depression formed over the southwest region of the Bay of Bengal, there are prospects of widespread rains for 3 days. There are prospects of heavy rains in a few places today in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Nagapattinam, Thiruvarur, Thanjavur, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi and Karaikkal,
There are prospects of light to medium rain tomorrow (Wednesday, 5th December) in a few places. There are prospects of heavy rains day-after-tomorrow (Thursday, 6th December) in a few places in the districts of Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, and Ramanathapuram.
It rained lightly yesterday in several places in Tamil Nadu. There was fog prevailing on the mountain ranges from the evening till early morning.
