Holiday season is nearing and people are already ready with their plans of travel from the long saved money exclusively for the year’s happy turn around. Flight bookings are going like a rampage with exciting discounts and sometimes peaking the maximum owing to the large demand. However it is necessary to know some facts that can help you enjoy your travel especially in terms of food to avoid before a big journey.

Travel friendly snacks are always a good option when it comes to long travel. In order to avoid acidity or reflux of the food during the journey one has to carefully select the type of food they eat on board or before the travel.

Here are the foods that you should avoid before boarding the flight

Coffee and Tea

Too much caffeine may make you nauseous and dehydrated that can be a big disturbing factor resisting the enjoyment of travel. It can also interfere with the sleep pattern that has a lasting impression in terms of jet lag for a long flight especially if it has a continental shift.

Salty Snacks

Salty snacks such as chips, pickled snacks, salted peanuts and other deep fried foods should be completely avoided before catching the long flight. The high sodium content in such foods can make you bloated during the flight and can reflux back in the form of throat and chest irritation. Water retention the result of such heavily salted snacks causing pain in the ankles and feet. So it is better to avoid such snacks while travelling to distant destination.

Junk food

Junk foods take longer time to digest with tis high fat content. So people with digestive issues must avoid such easily avoidable junk foods before boarding the flyer.

Beans

Beans is the rich source of protein and other essential compound but it may give some form of bloated feel upsetting the stomach in the times of air travel. So it is best to have beans or other natural greens only in normal days not in the times of long flight travel.

Carbonated beverages

Among all the list the carbonated drinks in any form should be avoided before the long flight journey. Dehydration, reflux, gas formation and irritation of throat are some of the sure shot symptoms that may disrupt a good journey.

Alcohol

Easily available on many international flights and it may present itself in the form of nerve relaxer. It will create a bad dehydration problem which is not recommendable during a long flight. Also sometimes it may trigger the defense mechanism of the body causing vomit and other excreting symptoms that may totally destroy the entire travel plan.
