A simpler procedure to assess property tax in Chennai

The Chennai Metro Corporation has introduced a new system which is simpler and easier to assess the Property Tax to be paid.
The Chennai Metro Corporation had announced 2 months earlier that the Property Tax has been increased by 50% for the residential occupation under the domain of the Chennai Metro Corporation and by 100% for the commercial buildings/complexes.
The property taxpaying public has assessed the Property Tax to be paid on their own on their owned property and register the same and make the Property Tax payment either through the internet or directly.
However, complaints have been made that the new Property Tax is quite excessive. Subsequently, a new facility has been introduced for the Taxpayers to assess the Property Tax to be paid on their own in the counter for making the payment. With this facility, the Property Taxpayers can compare their own assessment with the actual Property Tax assessed by the Chennai Metro Corporation.
