Mobile services in Chennai underground metro stations

The latest update from Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) announced the enabling of mobile services in underground stretches of metro stations in Chennai. CMRL brought in connectivity of mobile services for commuters.
As of now only Jio mobile network is in operational phase inside the underground stretch of 7.6 km from Thirumangalam to Nehru Park. Disruptions and losing signal are reported with Jio followed by the CMRL’s correctional measures to rectify the connectivity issue.
CMRL reported about the official talks with other mobile service providers for enabling connectivity other than Jio. Airtel, Vodafone, Idea and other important service providers are being contacted by the metro authorities for incorporating mobile services inside the underground stretch said one of the officials of CMRL.
