Shenoy Nagar metro station to turn women only station soon

Once you enter a Chennai Metro Rail Station, a commonly heard voice is that a woman who invites passengers with announcements regarding departure of next train. Whereas, very soon, it is likely that the Shenoy Nagar station will have women staff members to greet you as the Chennai Metro Rail is set to transform it into an all-women-run station.
The efficiency and responsibility of women is too high! So, this initiative will be of great benefit as it will give women employees a good boost. Though it may seem to be a very minor step, we strongly believe this to bring forth a huge impact on the whole.
Right from leading the entire station, maintaining the housekeeping activities, and all others, each and everything in Shenoy Nagar station will be controlled by women.
To note, there are about 26 stations under the Chennai Metro Rail Limited, encompassing 35 km. There are both men as well as women working here for ticket issuing, passenger checking, housekeeping, monitoring stations, etc. Of all these, Shenoy Nagar is going to be the pioneer in being all-women, an official added.
This will largely encourage and motivate women and give them huge pride, the official points. There are women drivers already working for the CMRL, to note.
The official also adds that they take maximum care to ensure proper care for all passengers, especially women in case of harassment. There is no such case being complained here so far. Meticulous monitoring of CCTV camera is done all through the day and there is enough guarding given to the station.
