Collection of rare postage stamps, can get Rs. 8000 scholarship for school students

The central government has come up with a new scheme of providing a scholarship assistance of Rs. 8000 to the students studying from 6th to 9th Standards for collecting rare stamps on the hobby of philately.

The postal department officials explained further on this scheme:

A new scheme, known as ‘Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana’, is being offered by the central government through te postal department from the academic year 2018-19 to the school students who collect rare stamps.

Accordingly, all the students studying from 6th to 9th Standard in the government/government-aided/private schools can collect rare stamps and handed over the same to the postal department.

Further, a written test will also be conducted testing the general knowledge of the students. A total of 50 marks – 25 for collections of stamps and 25 for the performance in the written test – will be awarded.

The best 10 students will be chosen from each class (6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th) a financial scholarship assistance of Rs. 8000 will be given to 40 students. The test will be conducted by the postal department.
