The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) updated this Tuesday that the Pensioners of India under the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) can submit the life certificate without 12 digit-unique identity number of Aadhar Card.

Pensioners with Aadhar details but facing a failed finger print verification can also submit their life certificate without any further delays regarding the Aadhar Verification.

EPFO instructed all the banks and mediating bodies of Pension distributing authorities to provide necessary alternatives for the pensioners. Pensioners without a Digital Jeevan Pramaan (an Aadhar based digital life certificate for pensioners) must be allowed to submit their respective Life Certificates.

On the other hand, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) directed all the banks to setup Aadhar enrolment centers in 10 percent of their total branches. This scheme is to facilitate People for Aadhar enrolment. The list of banks with Aadhar enrolment facilities are listed out in the UIDAI official website. So the bank authorities have to align all suitable process for the Beneficiaries enrolment of the verification.

According to the Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) Regulations 2016, the banks should also take the responsibility to provide special arrangements for bed-ridden or differently abled and senior citizens for the enrolment facilities through the Aadhar Involvement Centers.

So now the life certification certificate will be done with other identification details of the pensioner. The Aadhar enrolment will also be an integral part in finishing the whole process of certificate submission. The authorities will have to wait till the pensioners receive proper identification details from the UIDAI for further re-identification and updating the details in the central server.

For those Pensioners who have Aadhar identification but the finger print verification failure causing the issue, the following steps can be adopted for submission of Life certificate.

IRIS scanner is an alternative for those who got a failed finger print verification. In many cases the eye scanning was successfully verified in spite of finger print verification failure. So the digital life certificate can be generated through IRIS scanner verification only.

If both the IRIS and finger print verification are not verified the special entry of exception with proper input of reasons and pension details will be attached along with the paper life certificate. E-aadhar card can be scanned through QR code even in offline. The hard copies of the Aadhar card details will also be taken into the whole process of verification in the certificate submission.

EPFO instructed the banks’ senior management Officers to manually verify the pensioners with Aadhar verification issues and when all necessary identification and pension details are submitted the pensioners’ request should be accepted.
