For operating drones Tamil Nadu gets mobile command station now

Centre for Aerospace Research, Anna University or CASR have developed a mobile command and control station known as Anjas and on Thursday 11th of January 2018 chief minister for the state of Tamil Nadu Mr. Edappadi K Palanisawmi inaugurated this Anjas. Others who were present are higher education minister KP. Anbhazhagan, K. Senthil Kumar who is director of CASR, Registrar of Anna University Mr. Ganesan and higher education secretary Mr. Sunil Paliwal
It is known that drones are developed for many purposes such as surveillance, monitoring the crowd, land surveying etc. Plus these drones also play superb role during disaster relief operations.
It is now said that that these drones or unmanned aerial systems or UAV could be monitored and operated by this mobile command and control station Anjas. It is said that the command station could be used to operate three types of UAVs such as fixed wing, quadrotor and tethered types of UAV. Some of the areas where the UAVs have been used successfully are by revenue administration authorities, by forest department etc. It is worthy to mention that these UAVs are also used by law enforcement agencies and by the police force belonging to the states of Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Kerala.
One important piece of information is the presence of back up in this mobile station. As a result of this back up the mobile station could be operated for three days even after power failure and telecommunication network and that is superb news.
It is now revealed that in the district of Cuddalore, photogrammetric mapping project is being developed and this project could be of use in the flood preparedness. According to the centre the drones could be utilized in land survey, tourism, agriculture etc. In order to get more clients among government departments CASR is involved deeply now. The good news is designing and upgrading of unmanned aerial systems is going on now.
