Holiday for the schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu on 12th January

Pongal is a very important festival celebrated in the state of Tamil Nadu is well known. It is important to note that during the festival of Pongal Sun god is worshipped.
The latest news is due to this festival of Pongal Friday 12th January 2018 has been declared as holiday for the schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu. It is now clear that the students in the state of Tamil Nadu have now got holidays for five days. It must be noted that previously this holiday for Pongal was supposed to start from Saturday and now it would begin from Friday itself.
It is now said that parents travelling with their kids would find it difficult to go to their native places during Pongal as there would be huge rush in the buses and trains. In order to overcome this issue the department of school education has come forward to help these parents.
Mr. Pradeep Yadav who is the secretary of school education department has sent a circular on Wednesday evening to all the chief and district educational officers and has instructed the headmasters of the school to announce 12th January, Friday as a holiday. It is worthy to mention that all the colleges affiliated to the universities under the state higher education department would not function on 12th January and it is a holiday.
