825 Bags of turmeric auctioned at Rs. 38 Lakhs

The auction of turmeric sale was conducted yesterday (Thursday, 28th December) at the Namagiripettai Agricultural Producers Trade Association in Namakkal district.
The agriculturists from Namagiripettai, Mullukurichi, Metala, Mangalapuram, Pudhuppatti, and Seerapatti areas brought their turmeric yields for sales. Virali type of turmeric was brought in 650 bags. ‘Urundai’ type was brought in 170 bags. Panangali type of turmeric was brought in 5 bags making up a total of 825 bags of turmeric put up for sales.
Virali type of turmeric was sold at the maximum price of Rs. 9721 per quintal and a minimum price of Rs. 7319 per quintal. Urundai type turmeric was sold at a maximum price of Rs. 8201 per quintal and a minimum price of Rs. 6520 per quintal. Panangali type of turmeric sold at a maximum of Rs. 9002 per quintal and a minimum of Rs. 7802 per quintal.
A total of 825 bags of turmeric was sold at Rs. 38 Lakhs in the auction.
