Aadhar card will now be mandatory for creating a Facebook account

It is likely that Aadhar will be mandatory to use Facebook in India. There are more than 24.1 million persons using Facebook in India.
In the international arena, India has the 2nd largest number of the user of Facebook after the USA. However, it is found that a large number of fake Facebook accounts exist in India.
In order to prevent fake accounts, Facebook has decided to confirm that the account is real by checking the using person’s name through Aadhar card.
This test has been carried out on the mobile Facebook internet. For example, while the new users open their account, the query will be put to enter their names as registered in their Aadhar card with an indication that it would be easier for the users friends and acquaintances to recognize easily. The idea has also been checked in other social networking media such as Twitter.
However, it is not necessary for all to follow this. This would be required only for those who are new users entering for the 1st time. Further, There is only less number of people who use Facebook on their mobiles. So, Facebook has informed that those who are interested in using their original names as given in the book can change if preferred. Otherwise, it is not mandatory.
