With the monsoon showers, the temperature is drastically dropping and bringing relief and respite for the people who have so far been suffering with the prickly heat. People everywhere are celebrating the chill weather, while there are also troubles and hindrances due to water stagnation, poor drainage system and other reasons.

Earlier, in our post, we had informed you of the simple tips on waterproofing your home. Now is the turn for us to educate you about keeping all electrical appliances safe and functioning well during monsoon.

In general, during monsoon, the moisture level in the air is very high. Hence, it is very important to make sure that all the electrical appliances need to be given extra care.

Turn off appliances - In a country like ours where frequent power cut is likely, we need to be vigilant about keeping the appliances safe by switch them off at times of heavy showers.

Clean appliances with dry cloth – if you do not want the electrical appliances to form fungus on them, wipe them with dry cloth often. Make sure to clean the USB ports and CD and DVD drives and players importantly, as these can easily get jammed with excessive moisture that may accumulate when kept unused for prolonged period.

Regular use is a must – to effectively maintain the appliances, you need to keep using the appliances often. When there are appliances packed and kept closed in your home, now is the time to unpack them and use at least once in a while. Similar to a car getting jammed once in a while, any device would get jammed easily.

Service ahead of monsoon – if you have not done the service this time, that’s okay. But remember to service all the electrical appliances ahead of monsoon so that you enjoy hassle-free functioning of all of them during monsoon. Especially, when there is any trouble caused in the device, make sure to attend to it at the earliest.

Take care of your gadgets – you need to take extra care of your gadgets like tablets, laptops, smartphones, etc. Have them safe inside waterproof cases during monsoon. Even when you are in a photo capturing spree, your gadget will continue to remain safe when kept inside waterproof case.

Go on and enjoy the monsoon weather with safely kept and effectively functioning gadgets.
