- Director of IMD Chennai - S. Balachandran has forecasted rain to continue for the next 2 to 3 days as the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is currently moving around Sri Lanka, adjoining south-west Bay of Bengal and Tamil Nadu coast. Reportedly, rainfall will continue over North coastal parts of Tamil Nadu with heavy to very heavy rain over some coastal districts in the next 24 hours.

- For those travelling from Nungambakkam towards AnnaNagar. SterlingRoad is fast filling up with knee deep water and traffic is quite bad moving in single lane. The Nelson Manickam Subway is being cordoned off by the traffic police as water is filling up. By the next shower, it will surely be flooded. Shanthi Colony and Anna Nagar however are comparatively better. Heavy rains continue until Mogappair on the same route.
- Damage done at Sholinganallur Nearly two to three feet water from signal to aavin. Four wheelers have started stranding one by one
- Avoid using Medavakkam to Sholingnallur route. Water has started reaching roads and nearby SathakCollege there is hip level water by now. Already lot of two and four wheelers got stranded
- Mylapore Vivekananda College road is blocked due to heavy Water logging. Two Wheelers - Pedestrains - Cars use alternate route.
- People who are travelling to Guindy, Porur, Vadapalani, Pallavaram, Saidapet do not come via Velachery Phoenixmall route. The left after Phoenix mall has been blocked as the water level is high.
- Okkiyam to mettukuppam damage done. Tuf for vehicles to cross. Two to three feet water. tuf to pass okkiyam especially
- AnnaUniversity Kotturpuram flooded upto 15cms
- No waterlog from camp road to East tambaram. Suburban Trains are running as usual but slow
- Water logging in Mount Thomas Police station in Allandur. Siezed vehicles submerged.
- No water logging in Nelson Manickam Road Subway near Loyola College as of now. No traffic from Anna arch to Ethiraj Salai.
- Velachery ByPass 100Ft Rd is clear avoid Velachery High Rd Gurunanak to Vijaynagar use Bypass
- OMR safe to travel with manageable water logs here & there.
- Madipakkam route clear, however interiors water logged.
- Route from OMR to Tharamani via Velachery Guindy and porur is safe.
- Triplicane to Chennai Central route safe. Single point water logging near Body Guard Muniswaran temple
- Olympia tech park usual water log. Ekkaduthangal to Ashok Pillar looks fine to travel on 100 feet road
- Local trains running from Velachery to beach station. Beach to Chengalpattu local train running as usual.
- Okay to travel via Guindy, Alandur, Adambakkam, Ekatuthangal
- Velachery phoenix mall, Guindy, Kathipara, Vadapalani main road, Koyambedu bus stand, Anna Nagar, Thirumangalam junction, Mogappair roads are clear and safe and no water logging.
- Traffic shutdown at Gengu Reddy Subway both directions due to rain water logging. Traffic and corporation staff attending.
