Water level in Velachery Lake and updates

The Velachery Lake is located in Velachery, Chennai and spread across 55 acres of land area or 23.96 lakh sq. ft. Its primary source of water is rain showers.
The residents nearby the lake lack in proper drainage system and hence send out the sewage wastes to the lake and thus contaminates the waterbody. The Corporation of Chennai City has planned for boating services in the lake.
