Good rains lash the city after mid-night, Enjoy the break and wait for update on the rains. Its better it rains with such breaks.
Good rains lash entire city while most of you where sleeping, please don`t assume it has not rained in your area. Some areas where there is no weather station readings might have got much more rains.

Always remember, the north east monsoon peak time for rains is night to mornings and day rains will be much less compared to the early morning or night rains. The clouds near Chennai coast seen in Radar are struggling to move into land right from Chennai to Delta belt. So enjoy the break. If the steering of the clouds improve, i will post an update.
