Strong prospects of very heavy rain in 9 districts today (31st Oct)

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that the rain will persist in the coastal areas and interior districts. There are strong prospects of heavy rains in 9 districts in Tamil Nadu including Chennai and Thiruvallur.
The director of the Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that a strong cyclonic format has stabilised in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the southwest Bay of Bengal in the region near Sri Lanka and it is currently located there.
Because of this, there are strong prospects of rain in all the coastal districts and also in several places in the interior districts.
Heavy rains to very heavy rains is expected in 9 districts in the state - Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Nagai, Thanjavur, Thiruvallur, and Ramanathapuram.
