Ample placement despite bundle of concerns

While there are a lot of concerns about dwindling employment opportunities in India, there is ample summer placement in India including Indian Institute of management of which most of these are by sales and marketing, finance and consulting.
In just 4 days, the summer placement by IIM Lucknow and IIM Kozhikode have got over and in XLRI Jamshedpur saw 100 percent placement within 2 days.
According to the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), the summer placement has got over with the average stipend being doubled.
The SP Jain Institute of Management and Research based in Mumbai has also given good response with 24 percent increase in average stipend from the companies.
The summer placement is not the final one. However, they clearly signal the job environment likely to prevail in another few months for the student batches set to pass out this year.
Policies such as Goods and Services Tax have largely impacted job creation. Students will have about 8 to 10 weeks of work to obtain experience through these internships or summer placements. This will later expand to full-fledged job openings for the deserving ones.
