Prospects of rain in a few places in Tamil Nadu

As the recently formed low-pressure-zone crosses the eastern Odisha coast, the Chennai Meteorological Centre informed that there are prospects of rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
An official from the centre explained that the low-pressure zone, which developed recently over the Bay of Bengal, has intensified into a strong depression zone. This has stabilised over the central-west Bay of Bengal.
As on 8.30 AM on Thursday (19th October) morning, this depression zone was centred and located at a 340 km distance over the city of Puri in the state of Odisha. This is drifting towards the state of Odisha at 11 km per hour. On Friday morning (today, 20th October), the depression zone crossed the coastal area between Ouri and Chandbali of the Odisha state. Subsequently, it is expected to form a strong depression zone in the next 18 hours.
Because of the above development, there are prospects of rain or rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Chennai Metro city will generally remain cloudy. There may be rain in a few places.
