Special buses for Deepavali start operating from Chennai

It is estimated that over a lakh of persons have undertaken to visit their native places to celebrate the important occasion of Deepavali festival.

In order to meet the demand of the large extra passengers, 4820 special buses are being operated from Chennai to various places.

In order to meet the  huge extra demand for bus travel, temporary additional bus terminus have been set up in 5  places – Koyambedu, Anna Nagar West, Poonamallee, Tambaram, and Saidapet (near court),

In order to facilitate the passengers in these special buses to reach the above bus terminus without any difficulties, MTC has arranged to operate additional buses from the different urban places to the above 5 bus terminus.

Apart from the regularly operated 2275 buses, the additional special buses as above are also being operated. 788 special buses started from Chennai yesterday (Sunday, 15th October).

1844 special buses will operate today (Monday, 16th October), and 2188 special buses will be operated tomorrow (Tuesday, 17th October).

Thus, a total of 11111 special buses will be operated on the above 3 days to take the passengers to different destinations in the state of Tamil Nadu.
