Shattering the Myths - Success in civil services exam is within your reach

Mr. Israel Jebasingh IAS, Founder and Director, Officers IAS Academy (Anna Nagar), recently addressed more than 500 students of IIT Madras as a part of their Extra Mural Lectures (EML) series. The interactive session was held on the topic “Bust the myths around the Civil Services Examination.” He along with Mr. R. Rangarajan IAS, Principal Teaching Faculty, Officers IAS Academy shared their experience and expertise in Civil Service Examinations. They interacted with select group of students and cleared their doubts on how to approach UPSC examinations.
Addressing the students, Mr. Israel Jebasingh said, “There are lot of myths that surround IAS training. But the fact is, anyone can clear the civil service exams. At first, it can be little harder for the students while preparing but focus and burning determination are the key to success. He added that understanding of concepts is highly appreciated rather than memorising. A year of intense study after graduation will help attain desired results.
The entire session focused on why joining the IAS is an increasingly sought after option, more so given the challenges other booming industries are facing, the eligibility criteria, the examination format and what it takes to crack the interview. In the process, they shattered several myths that have formed over the years particularly around one’s capability, the intensive preparation required and English proficiency pointing out their own background and achievements.
