Prospects of heavy rains in South Tamil Nadu

The Chennai Meteorological Centre has informed that due to the cyclonic wind format develop in the upper layers of the atmosphere, there are strong prospects for heavy rains in South Tamil Nadu today (Wednesday, 6th September).
An official of the Chennai Meteorological Centre explained that the cyclonic format which developed in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the Southeast Bay of Bengal near Kanyakumari has now spread up to Tamil Nadu via Telangana and Rayalaseema.
Because of this, there are prospects of rain in a few places in the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. There are prospects of heavy rain in the interior and South Tamil Nadu.
The Chennai Metro City will remain lightly cloudy. It may rain or rain with thunder in the evening or night.
