Gurupeyarchi Festival - Special Pooja performed in Alangudi temple

Out of the 9 grahas of the Hindu mythology, the graham Lord Guru (Jupiter) shifts every year from one zodiac symbol to another. This year Guru (Jupiter) shifted from the Zodiac symbol Kanni (Virgo) to the Zodiac symbol Thulam (Libra) at 9.31 AM today (Saturday, 2nd September),
On this special occasion, the festival of Guru shifting was celebrated in a grand manner at the Lord Abathsahayeswarar Temple in Alangudi in Thiruvarur district.
Yagasala Pooja and Special Abhishekha Aaradhana were performed on Lord Guru.
Thousands of devotees from the other districts of Tamil Nadu as well as devotees from other states gathered at Alangudi temple and had the Darshan of Lord Guru on this special occasion.
