Heavy rains in many parts of Chennai

It has been raining heavily in several parts of Chennai Metro City from this afternoon today (Wednesday, 16th August). It has been raining heavily in Mylapore, Mandavalli, Royappettah, Koyambedu, Vadapalani, Thirumangalam, Egmore, Anna Nagar, Kodambakkam, Nungambakkam. T. Nagar, Saidapet, and Santhome in Chennai.
The traffic has been heavily affected because of the rain. A tree in TTK Road (Alwarpet) fell on a car due to heavy rain and there was an accident. The Corporation personnel are on the job to remove the tree.
In a similar fashion, tree branches have fallen down due to the heavy rain on the road from Anna University to Kotturpuram. This has created a very heavy traffic congestion.
