There successive holidays for the banks twice during this month of August. This leads to the likelihood of ATMs rendered ineffective. All the nationalised banks have holidays on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays. With this, during the month of August, the banks will have successive holidays twice.
These are the 2 instances of successive holidays in August.
12th August - 2nd Saturday, 13th August - Sunday, 14th August - Krishna Jayanthi and 15th August - Independence Day (4 successive holidays)
25th August - Friday Vinayaka Chathurthi, 26th August - 4th Saturday, and 27th August - Sunday (3 successive holidays).
These 2 occasions of successive bank holidays lead to the strong possibility of the ATMs rendered ineffective.
Hence, it has been advised that the public should make a strong note of this and plan withdrawals on the right time withdrawing the amount in advance of the holidays.
The public, on their part, has appealed to the banks to keep sufficient currency in the ATMs on these occasions.
