Ramnath Kovind to be sworn in as President today (25th July)

Ramnath Kovind will assume the Nation’s highest post of President today (Tuesday, 25th July) at 12.15 PM in the Central Hall of Parliament. He will be the 14th President of India.
He is to be sworn in by the Chief Justice of India. With the tenure of the previous president Pranab Mukherjee comes to an end, the swearing in of the new president is scheduled today.
As per the swearing-in ceremony, Ramnath Kovind will be brought to the Rashtrapathi Bhavan by a team headed by the Secretary of the Department of Defence. The outgoing president Pranab Mukherjee will hand over some highly confidential documents regarding the army and external affairs policies.
After this, both Pranab Mukherjee and Ramnath Koving will travel in a car to the Parliament. After the reception in the parliament, the Supreme Court Chief Justice will administer the swearing in of the new president Ramnath Kovind.
Once the swearing-in ceremony is completed, Ramnath Kovind will proceed to Rashtrapathi Bhavan. Pranab Mukherjee will leave for his new residence. Special arrangements have been made in both the Parliament and the Rashtrapathi for this special occasion.
