Pre-GST Dhamaka offers watches, perfumes, electronic items and more on slashed rates

The offers can be referred to as pre-GST Dhamaka. After 1st July, the price of electronic goods and wristwatches are set to see a price hike, as the Goods and Services Tax is set to make an entry. So, the retailers are trying to make the most of the situation with massive discounts to customers.
People are rushing to electronic stores across the state. It is not just for the electronic items, but for almost everything, there are offers starting from apparels to footwear. All products are available at slashed rate till Friday, today. There will be about 13.5 percent price hike in electronic goods after 1st July, because these will fall under the highest bracket of 28 percent.
On the first two days of GST implementation – Saturday and Sunday, these sales are set to come to an end. We will probably lose money with these two days, and hence, were are pushing for more sales, says an executive from a leading retail store.
Electronic goods come with almost 15 to 25 percent discount, as these are set to increase in rate than the normal slab which is 14.5 percent now. After revision in price, the products will be priced 28 percent, says a marketing executive of one another electronic outlet.
Products that are likely to see a huge difference in rate include perfumes, fans, air conditioners, deodorants, refrigerators, watches, 2-wheelers, 4-wheelers, etc. There is in fact up to 80 percent offer on branded wristwatches in a few online sales.
Two-wheeler dealers are the ones who are unable to cash in on the pre-GST sale, as all the vehicles registered now can only be delivered after 1st July and these rats will include GST.
One of the bike distributors in the city states that they will not be selling any bike on the first two days of GST implementation, as the financiers and distributors will be revising rates.
For products ordered before 1st July, GST will be applicable. A buyer states that she has ordered Vespa, a scooter about one week ago. The vehicle will be delivered only after 1st of July. Now, the heat of GST is implied on the scooter she buys and there is 13.5 percent more price I need to bear at the time of delivery, she says.
