The procedure for getting trade mark rights gets simplified

The central ministry department of commerce and industry has released a press report.
According to this report, in order to facilitate the new starting of new industries, the procedure for applying for approval for the trade-mark for the product made by the concerned company/industry has been simplified.
According to the report, the number of applications submitted to get the trade-mark approval has been reduced from the present 74 to just 8.
Also, the fee for applying online for obtaining trademark has been reduced from Rs. 8000 to Rs. 4500.
As compared to the printed and filled paper applications, the charges of applying online without any paperwork have been fixed at 10 percent lesser.
The time scheduled which was originally 12 months to inspect and review the applications for trademark has already been reduced to just 1 month.
With the implementation of all the above features, the companies can obtain the trademark approval and intellectual property rights in quick time.
