Alanganallur Jallikattu event commenced today (10th Feb)

Being a very hot news item in the last few months and the globally popular event of Jallikattu at Alanganallur commenced today (Friday, 10th February).
The event was not conducted in the last 2 years and has been revived thanks to the mammoth and magnificent silent protest conducted by the youth and the student community throughout Tamil Nadu.
The protest was a huge success and all the hurdles for conducting Jallikattu were removed and the event was restarted in several places in Tamil Nadu.
Following the Jallikattu events in several other places, the world famous Jallikattu conducted in Alankanallur commenced today (10th February).
Madurai District Collector Mr. Veeraraghava Rao inaugurated the event. Prior to this, the Jallikattu contestants took the oath.
Then, the senior officials were honored on behalf of the event organizers and the temple bulls were released.
950 bulls and 1650 contestants are participating in this event. 2500 police personnel are deployed for the security purposes.
Celebrities in the field of politics and cinema have arrived in large numbers to watch this world-famous event. Actors Lawrence and Aari joined after the event was inaugurated.
The central minister Pon Radhakrishnan, State Jallikattu Federation President Rajasekharan, Sri Lanka Sports Minister Senthil Thondaiman, and Directo Amir arrived to watch the event.
