A new twist in Jallikattu happenings

The Supreme Court judges observed that the Ordinance passed by the state government of Tamil Nadu is against Supreme Court judgment delivered in 2014. The case was taken up for enquiry by the bench of judges Deepak Mishra and Rohinton Nariman Bench. They raised the question why PETA is against Jallikattu.
The judges were concerned about the violence that was unleashed at the end of the protest against Jallikattu, They questioned why the government failed to control the violence. Further, they gave the approval for the central government to withdraw the announcement released in 2016.
The advocate representing the central government explained the procedure by which the law was enacted and the new law will be released in the government journal in 2 days time. The enquiry is in progress.The advocate representing PETA spoke that though the central government has withdrawn 2016 announcement, the case should be continued and enquiry must be conducted.
Following the youth and students concerted protest against the ban on Jallikattu, the state government of Tamil Nadu passed an ordinance in the State Legislative Assembly.The organization Coofa has filed a case in the Supre Court against this ordinance passed by Tamil Nadu.The enquiry for this case commenced today (Tuesday, 31st January).
In this case, the senior congress leader Abhishek Singhvi, who participated in the earlier cases, did not appear in the proceedings this time, probably due to the opposition from the Tamil Nadu political parties.
