No harmful radiation from towers, says TRAI official

The Telecom Regulation Authority of India, or TRAI, has said that the harmful effects of electromagnetic field radiation had not been proved.
Speaking at an outreach programme, a senior TRAI official said, People are scared of harmful effects of radiation from cell phone towers. However, it has not been established that electromagnetic field radiation from mobile towers causes any harm to humans. While there are several studies on the adverse impact of radiation on people, little research was done on how radiation would have positive effects on humans. Do not have unreasonable fears on radiations from mobile towers. Fear-mongering on the evil effects of radiations created aversion among the public on setting up mobile towers, adding the lesser number of cell phone towers will affect the quality of service.
