Chennai welcomes Reliance Jio

Posted on: 03/Sep/2016 5:23:34 PM
As Mukesh Ambani announced free voice calling and zero roaming charges with cheap data tariffs for all its Jio customers, people all over the country were awestruck. Chennai is no exception. The city is verily ready to welcome plans by Reliance jio. Users all over have got difference in opinion about Reliance Jio service.

The process of initiation and activating the Reliance Jio SIM card is very easy and seamless. The offers on data speed and availability are also desirable and mobile users can enjoy faster downloads. Reliance has itself assured to rectify the issues with voice calling.

There is no headache with roaming as it is made completely free. Unlimited usage is announced; however there is no indication whether it is for the data or voice calling. There prevails confusion in how voice calls will be calculated. If those are to be measured based on data usage, how will it be done?

A Chennaite says there is no way for customers of existing networks to get shifted to Reliance Jio i.e. porting numbers is not possible. Customers will further be excited with porting facility.

With Reliance, there is increased call drop rate. They are in the course of reducing this with necessary measures. The problem lies with network sharing by other telecom providers like Airtel, Vodafone, etc and this results in increased call drop when called from Jio network to numbers of other telecom providers.

On the whole, Chennai is ready to adapt to Reliance Jio and enjoy all its benefits, despite confusions and lack in clarity in a few elements.
