Metro rail services between Chennai Airport - Little Mount to commence soon

After getting approval from Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety, Metro Rail is expected to start commercial operations on the 8.33 km Chennai Airport-Little Mount stretch during the month of August. Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety S Nayak evaluated the railway tracks and also checked the part of the underground stretch near the airport, to make sure proper ventilation is there. Today he is expected to check the signals and communication.
Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety S Nayak would submit a report next month paving the way for commencement of commercial operations by the third week of August.
