Google had announced about rolling out this latest feature in its Google Plus post. It is also to be noted that the time mentioned here is just an estimate and not precise. Google has not hinted any specific locations to which this feature will be available, however it is presumably for major tourist destinations.
There was an update made last week which allows users to find cheap flights and cheap hotel booking on Google search engine. It lets people search and book hotels based on a number of criteria such as pet friendly ones, smoke-free ones, kid friendly hotels, hotels with laundry services, etc.
