Police stations at Metro Rail stations

The Metro Rail has become operational between Alandur and Koyambedu. There are 7 railways stations in this route. If the metro rail becomes fully operational there will be 32 metro rail stations. Tamil Nadu director general of police (DGP) Ashok Kumar, additional DGP law and order, T K Rajendran, state intelligence inspector-general of police P Kannappan, and the city police commissioner S George inspected metro rail stations and travelled by the train to review the security systems in place.
It has been decided to have a police station in all the stations with a full team of police officers.
A senior police officer said, "Discussions are on. The state government will soon take a decision based on a detailed report that will be submitted by the city police, state police and the state intelligence unit."
