2 Metro Rail coaches arrive on the same day

2 metro rails comprising of 4 coaches each arrived in Chennai from Andhra,
These coaches which were manufactured in Sri City of Andhra Pradesh were brought to Chennai by trailers and are now stationed in Koyambedu depot. 24 indigenously manufactured coaches have so far arrived in Koyambedu depot.
It has been decided to operate 42 rails comprising of 42 coaches in Chennai Metro Rail. The coaches are manufactured in Alstom in Brazil. It was decided to manufacture 9 coaches in Brazil and 33 coaches in Tada in Andhra Pradesh. All the trains manufactured in Brazil were shipped to Chennai.
Similarly, Alstom set up a factory in Sri City in Tada in Andhra Pradesh to manufacture coaches indigenously. Coaches manufactured there are transported to Chennai in trailers. So far 4 metro rails comprising of 4 coaches were brought to Chennai.
At this juncture, 2 metro rail comprising of 8 coaches were brought to Chennai few days back. This is the second time, two metro rails are brought together, A coach is being manufactured at a cost of Rs 9 Crores. Rs 1471 Crores 39 Lakhs have been allotted for the manufacture of coaches.
Now CMRL has 9 metro rails comprising of 4 coaches each ready for operations.
