19th Metro Rail Coach arrives in Chennai

The 19th rail coach to be used in Metro Rail service has arrived in Koyambedu workshop.
This coach has been manufactured in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh and brought to Chennai by trailer Lorries. This is the 10th coach manufactured indigenously.
It has been decided to operate 42 metro rail comprising four coaches each. The coaches are being manufactured in Alstom in Brazil. It has been decided to produce 9 coaches in Brazil and 33 coaches in Andhra Pradesh. All the coaches manufactured in Brazil have arrived in Chennai. Now the 10th coach manufactured in Andhra Pradesh has also arrived in Chennai. The coaches are being manufactured at a cost of Rs 1471 Crores 39 Lakhs.
