The state minister for the department of Registration, Mr. M C Sampath, presided over a meeting for detailed discussions on the departmental activities yesterday (Thursday, 26th February).

All senior departmental officials participated in the discussions. The minister informed that the target for the department for the year 2014-15 was set as Rs. 10470.18 Crores. So far, Rs. 7216 Crores has been the revenue until this period.

The offices should put in extra effort and achieve the target. The state government has taken the policy to build offices for the registration offices which are presently functioning in rented accommodations. Accordingly, office buildings for 175 registration offices are being constructed at a cost of Rs. 104 Crores.

The facility for the public to get their data regarding their registrations on internet was introduced on 11th June, 2014. So far, around 42 Lakh persons have utilized this free internet service.

The officials should strictly follow the rules and guidelines regarding fake registrations and change in the names of the owners.

Only one month is left in the current financial year. So far, there has been a revenue of only Rs. 7276 Crores in the first 11 months.

Now, questions are raised how the department can generate a revenue of balance Rs. 3191 Crores in 1 month!
