10-day craft exhibition-cum-sale

A 10-day craft exhibition-cum-sale `Dastkari Haat Crafts Bazaar` at Kalakshetra Foundation has been organized.
As many as 112 stalls displaying sarees from Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and readymade dress suits, dress materials, jewellery, accessories, puppets shows, wooden furniture, curtains and different forms of paintings were displayed.
There were different types of paintings including the miniature painting of Rajasthan that portrayed typical royalty, court scenes, battles and hunting scenes. The Phad Painting done on a large scroll of cloth depicted the stories of legendary heroes. The Gond Painting from Madhya Pradesh was done by Adivasi Tribes of the State.
The Madhubani Painting from Bihar had a strong religious influence and depicted mythological figures and stories. Also, the Patachitra Painting, Orissa was dedicated to Lord Jaganath of Puri.
