Tamil Nadu government has planned to set up 232 electronic service centres in the state before 28th February.

The state government’s Arasu Cable TV is operating from 75 control centres through 26,910 cable operators for 70.52 Lakh subscribers providing cable TV service.

Arasu Cable TV has been setting up general service centres at each of the 234 legislative constituency assemblies.

The aim of these service centres is to provide efficient, quick and transparent service to the public at the nearest place of their residences.

The service centres would help in issuing certificates such as ‘no graduates in the family’, wives deserted by husbands, income certificates, caste certificates, Chief Minister’s Female Child Protection Scheme, Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar memorial Marriage assistance scheme, Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy inter-caste marriage system, EVR Maniyammaiyar poor widows’ daughters’  marriage scheme, Dr. sundarambal Ammaiyar Widow remarriage scheme, Annai Theresa’s destitute womens’ marriage scheme, etc.

The first service centres were inaugurated by the Chief Minister on 24th February, 2014 and have been functioning in 10 places in Chennai city.

Service centres have been  opened in 12 Tashildar offices in Kanchipuram & Thiruvallur districts from 20th December and have been functioning.

So far, 1,08,776 individuals have benefited from these service centres.

Presently, there are 22 service centres. Activities are under progress to set up similar electronic service centres in all the legislative assembly constituencies.
