Mr. H S Bramha takes over as CEC (Chief Election Commissioner) today!

Mr. H S Bramha is set to assumed office today as the new Chief Election Commissioner.
Until now, Mr. V S Sampath, was the Chief Election Commissioner and he retires from his job today.
Mr. Bramha, was the next in the hierarchy and has been selected as the new Chief Election Commissioner by the President of India.
Mr. Bramha hails from the state of Assam.
He is scheduled to retire from his services on 19th April, 2015.
The retiring Chief Election Commissioner, Mr. V S Sampath has expressed his hopes that the reforms in the election commission will continue as planned.
