Special buses for the festive occasion of Pongal from Koyambedu, Chennai!

Special buses are being organised throughout Tamil Nadu on the festive occasion of Pongal for the public planning to visit their native places on this occasion.
The state transport corporation has announced that 7,250 buses will be operated for Pongal starting from today (Saturday, 10th January).
To facilitate the return journey of these passengers, the same number of buses will operate from 16th January till 19th January.
4655 buses operate daily from Chennai Koyambedu Bus station.
600 operate from Chennai to other places.
3 special gates have been set up for the buses to leave & arrive at the terminus.
Surveillance cameras have been installed to monitor the movement of buses.
Unreserved buses are scheduled to start from the 1st & 2nd bus corridor. Reserved buses are set to start from 3rd to 6th bus corridors.
25 special counters have been set up to facilitate reservation for the special buses.
Further, inspection squads have been operating to check the fleecing of passengers by private buses operators by charging extra.
