Metrowater to install high-precision flow metres at Nemmeli desalination plant

Metrowater is planning to install high-precision flow metres at various points along the Nemmeli desalination plant`s 64km pipeline in order to prevent leakage of water . The flow metres will help ascertain water leaks that have caused major revenue losses to Metrowater.
The utility is likely to spend 1.5 crore to install 10 electromagnetic flow meters in addition to 12 meters already installed on the pipeline. The meters will transmit data on water flow and leaks to 22 data transfer units through a telemetry system.
